USP&E CEO Will Gruver chosen as Ernst & Young Regional Finalist 05/08/2012

Will Gruver was chosen by an independent panel of judges to represent USP&E as a finalist in the southwest area north region of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Program. Gruver, who is currently working in Sierra Leone, says he felt a surge of emotion and gratitude when he learned of the news.

“To be connected in any way to a firm as world renowned as Ernst & Young is a tremendous honor,” says Gruver who received the phone call while with clients and staff in West Africa.

In June, award recipients will be formally announced during a special gala held at the Hyatt Regency Dallas Hotel. The Entrepreneur of the Year celebrates those individuals building and leading successful growing and dynamic businesses. Ernst & Young recognizes these companies through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 140 cities and in more than 50 nations. Entrepreneur of the Year candidates are both transitional and transformational. The program is in its 26th year.

USP&E Commences 100MW MAN Installation in West Africa 02/04/2012

USP&E has begun demolition of a large Cold War era power station building in one of the largest capitals of West Africa in order to build a brand new power station for a key client. "We are very excited about the opportunity to make a huge difference in Africa. It is just such an exciting and dynamic place to work. Ultimately, we are not just supplying reliable energy to thousands of homes and businesses, but we are truly changing lives in the process", stated Will Gruver, CEO.

USP&E Wins EPC & 10 Year O&M Contract in West Africa 11/16/2011

USP&E announced today the award of a contract to Engineer, Procure and Construct a 150MW HFO MAN power station for a key client. "This win demonstrates our growing footprint in Africa and we are excited to have already gotten started", stated Steve Shipley, VP Global Engineer. USP&E expects this plant to grow to over 600MW in 2012.

USP&E Awarded 5 Year O&M Contract for New HFO Power Station 11/06/2011

USP&E announced today the award of a 5 year Operations and Maintenance Contract in Sierra Leone. After 14 months of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), USP&E successfully commissioned this 13MW HFO Power Station on time and on budget. "We are thrilled with our results, but even more so with the overall success of our partnership with our client. It took everything we had and more to get this done and are very grateful for the work," Jason Biermeier, COO/Executive VP of USP&E.

USP&E Recognizes Several Key Executives 08/21/2011

USP&E announced Friday the promotion of several key executives at the firm.

For recognition of his tremendous leadership and outstanding service, Jason Biermeier was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Stephen Shipley was promoted to Vice President of Global Engineering.

Riaan Slabbert was promoted to Director of Projects.

Les Grafton was promoted to Director of Sales.

Earlier this year Nathaniel Winn was promoted to Director of Product Development.

Carlson Wagonlit Travel Chooses USP&E for UPS and Generator Service Contract 07/11/2011

Carlson Wagonlit Travel has chosen USP&E to service UPS and generator installations at all of their 39 North American locations. USP&E was chosen based on their competitive bid, innovative approach to service, attention to the needs of the prospective customer and timely follow up during the bid process regarding any issues or questions. With 20+ years of experience in the telecom and data center space, Mr. Richard Eder (Construction and Service Manager) provided a basis from which to understand the needs of Carlson's facilities. "Carlson is excited to work with us because we presented a comprehensive program of unit assessment and a path to full operational status for each of their UPS and generator units. Uptime is essential to mission critical contact centers and data facilities. Should utility power fail, the UPS has to be ready to assume the load", stated Mr. Eder. This contract represents an important and growing market in USP&E's suite of services, including construction of power stations, data rooms, emergency generator services and other related offerings.

USP&E signed a contract to install the HFO power station and HFO fuel farm at an Iron Ore mine in Africa last week. USP&E will supply up to 10 expats and supervise over 25 nationals in order to install this power station in 90 days. USP&E Set to Install Large HFO Power Station in Sierra Leone in April 2011 03/22/2011

USP&E will install and commission the power station comprised of diesel generators it sold to an iron ore mining conglomerate with operations in Sierra Leone in April, 2011. Senior USP&E HFO Construction and Service Managers Andre Van Zyl (SA) and Eddie Clough (NZ) will depart with their team in April. USP&E Awarded Sale in Tunisia Africa 02/18/2011

USP&E announced today the sale of a Cat C15 500kW diesel generator to a mining client in Tunisia. Robert Esparza, Director of Sales, stated "my team and I are very pleased with this new order for diesel generators from a new client and are excited about the future." USP&E sells, installs and maintains diesel generators and power stations worldwide specializing in mining, oil and gas, utility and infrastructure applications in remote regions.

USP&E Begins Construction on Minneapolis Data Center 02/01/2011

Dallas-based USP&E's Data Center Build division announced the commencement of procurement and construction for a global professional services company in Minneapolis. Richard Eder stated that he is "excited to be moving forward on this project. We have performed feasibility studies and engineering for this client and are now very happy to be retained again to supply and install our the client's critical power and environment capabilities to their 18 story facility." USP&E is currently building out 3 data center that incorporate diesel generators, natural gas generators, switchgear and specialized cooling equipment at facilities nationwide. USP&E also services and supports data center operations for clients across North America.
